The Roys: Denis, Gwen, and children

After almost three years of planning, praying and establishing relationships, the dream of planting a church is quickly becoming a reality for Denis & Gwen Roy and family.

It was three years ago this past spring that the Apostolic Team of Vanguard Ministry laid hands on Gwen and I and prayed for our complete restoration and re-release into the ministry. Our faith was strengthen by those prayers and they comforted us as we packed up our home in Virginia and journeyed to Indiana. We departed with the words of Psalm 18:19 in our heart, “He brought me out into a spacious place; He rescued me because He delighted in me.

Since that time we’ve acclimated ourselves to the ‘Midwest’ and the community of Brownsburg, Indiana. God slowly brought a small but passionate group of friends around us who we had the joy of ministering to and walking out our lives with. About two months ago, in conjunction with a visit by Bobby and Carrie, we felt that the Lord was saying it was time to switch gears and prepare to launch. Largely influenced by the church-planting materials of Nelson Searcy and Steve Sjogren we’ve set out on a course that will see New Day Church launched on September 13th.New Day’s vision is to, “Lead people into encounters with God that result in transformation.”

Since we set our target date and took the leap of faith God has begun to show His great favor to us in a multitude of ways. First, we’ve secured a very nice room in a local school and have already established a good relationship with those involved there. Second, in our search for a worship minister God ‘inadvertently’ led us to a young woman who is a design/promotion/multi-media whiz. Her youth and knowledge of electronic communications (web, twitter, facebook, etc.) have pushed us to the edge of this new world and opened up countless new opportunities for us.

We are still looking for a person to take the point position on our worship but we are confident that God will provide exactly who we need at the exact moment that we need them.

As we continue to move out into uncharted waters we ask for you prayers. Please pray for:
1) Faith to believe in that which cannot yet be seen.
2) Provision for the things that are needed by September 13th.
3) A worship leader with a heart that is harmonious with ours.
4) Additional support team members.
5) Favor in our community.
6) The Holy Spirit’s anointing to be on us when we speak to others.
